The Mysteries of Prayer Part II: Better prayer, through better reception

Updated: Jul 6, 2021

Previously, we talked about how prayer is similar to our smartphones that we use every day. In this piece, we will discuss how to improve communication with The Most High and strengthening that signal.

When talking to someone from a wireless phone, nothing affects our conversation more like a poor signal. The person on the other end has a difficult time hearing us speak, and we have a difficult time hearing them. And sometimes we find ourselves moving around to get better signal strength to find clarity in the call. Likewise in prayer, it’s important that our "signal" with The Most High is as strong as possible to reach His Throne and also to get a clearer response from HIm. So how do we improve our connection to The Most High in prayer? Here are some practical steps to do that.

Strengthening Prayer by Knowing How to Position Yourself.

One of the Hebrew words for prayer, is “Palal”, which means to “speak to authority”, or to “fall before authority”. In prayer, the best position is to humbly meet our Maker face to face with our requests, kind of like “Facetime” with another caller. How do we accomplish that? By understanding where He resides, and from where He reigns. Scripture tells us that the Earth is His footstool, or where He rest His feet, and like a king would rest his feet on a stool from his throne, so does our Creator. Isaiah 66:1 Scripture also gives us a clue on where that footstool is, and according to

2 Chronicles 6:6 and Jerimiah 3:17 the metaphysical locale of His Throne connects at the center of the earth “The Middle East, or Middle Earth”  and transcends into the heavens from a place where scripture tells us The Most High has placed His Name and Throne, that place is in fact a city, and is called Jerusalem, which means, “The City of Shalom” or “City of Peace”.

So when we pray it’s important to understand and observe that when we face His Throne, (from the North American continent, that would be towards the East) and point ourselves in that direction, to meet Him face to face; we are recognizing His authority, lining up with His will, and establishing a more intimate connection with our Creator, which also strengthens our faith, and enhances our communication with The Most High.

Now to be historically correct, I have to point to the fact that in 70 A.D. according to the text and other sources that Jerusalem was destroyed and left in ruins The City of Peace, which s near the Middle Eastern region, on the north east crown of Africa, "The Land of Canaan". And like Daniel who while in exile, held captive in Babylon, positioned himself to face his homeland where The Most High reigns; So should we not only position ourselves, but more importantly position our hearts to face His Throne  Daniel 6:10 'When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before. ' Daniel 6:10

It’s also important to keep in mind, that our Creator, understands that it’s not always practical to position our physical bodies towards His Throne, I must reiterate, that more importantly no matter where we are, that our "hearts" are focused toward His direction and on Him, because those who worship The Most High Yah, must do so spiritually and truthfully.  John 4:24

Strengthening Prayer with Fasting

Fasting is abstaining from something that our bodies desire. It can be food, sex, T.V. etc. It’s in fasting that we decrease the appetites of our flesh, and increase our spiritual appetite or desire to be closer to our Creator.  Ezra 8:21

Strengthening Prayer with Righteous Living

No one is perfect, but we can strive for the mark of perfection, and that can be accomplished by mere obedience to the word of The Most High. Righteous living is meeting The Most High where we are, walking the path of trusting His direction, and when we fall short, understanding that His grace will keep us on the path to Redemption, which keeps us connected to Him, and ultimately strengthening our communication in prayer.  1 John 1:9

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."  Hebrews 4:16 Prayer is essential in our daily walk with our Creator, and can empower us to grow spiritually, and achieve access to resources of The Most High's Kingdom. When prayer is properly applied, The Most High will delegate His angels to move on our behalf and carry out the things we ask from Him, as long as we are lined up with His will. My prayer for you is that you gain understanding of His will for your life, and as you seek His presence, that He takes residence in your heart and gives you your heart's desires. Also delight yourself in The Most High, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4

Shalom.
